**Job Summary**

This position is responsible for designing dragline survey control, ramps and roads, and providing month end closeout information to accounting for royalties and operational metrics. The position handles all the processing of laser scanner and drone data, running all volumetrics for tracking, planning, and closeout purposes, and providing all technical interface for engineering improvements to GPS, scanner, and drone software and hardware. This position supports Mine Operations by providing dragline and prestrip planning information and tracking results.

**Job Description**

**_* LEVEL OF POSITION WILL BE DETERMINED BY APPLICABLE EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE._**

**Key Accountabilities**

+ Surveys controls.

+ Designs various ramps used during pre-stripping.

+ Responsible for monthly reporting on royalty calculations.

+ Reviews and analyses aerial flights of the mine sites taken from drones flown by the incumbent process files for production of surface data and videos. -Process survey data to perform volumetric calculations of lignite stockpile inventory.

+ Design Haul Roads and Pit Ramps produced volumetric calculations of cut and fill quantities, prepare machine control files of the designs.

+ Design Dragline Pits and prepare machine control files of the designs.

+ Process survey data to perform volumetric calculations of dragline and pre-strip quantities.

+ Prepare bi-annual M.S.H.A Mine Maps.

+ Assist various departments in preparing AutoCAD Maps.

+ Design Pre-Strip Pits produced volumetric calculations of cut and fill quantities, prepare machine control files of the designs.

+ Prepare Cross-Section files of Design Pits with Lignite and Overburden dimensions.

+ Works with others in Engineering and Operations on dragline sequence plans

**Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements**

+ High school Diploma or GED equivalent required / Technical degree preferred.

+ 2 - 10 Years Mining Experience working in a surface mine in the engineering department or comparable planning department.

+ Related experience that promotes development in the areas described by the major accountabilities and key competencies of this job.

+ Must be able to solve problems, and engineer solutions requiring constructive thinking/imaginative approaches.

+ Must take initiative to create objectives that lead to continuous improvement and create value for the company.

+ Must be able to communicate ideas, plans, and designs, efficiently and effectively.

+ Must be a continuous learner, keeping up with the latest technologies to improve the mine planning and design processes.

**Key Metrics**

-Consistently provide required detailed planning information in a timely manner to Operations to be able to execute the mine plan and ensure success.

-The accuracy of the mine plan civil designs and the dragline and prestrip design survey control.

-The accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of month end closeout metrics

-Customer satisfaction - feedback from Operations.
