The MIS Manager/Billing Administrator is responsible for overseeing the management of our information systems and billing processes. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the efficient operation of our IT infrastructure and the accurate billing of our services, ultimately contributing to our company's growth and success. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Information Systems Management: - Oversee the maintenance and optimization of our information systems, including network infrastructure, hardware, and software.
- Ensure data security, integrity, and accessibility, implementing necessary measures and protocols.
Billing Administration: - Manage all aspects of the billing process, including generating invoices, tracking payments, and resolving billing discrepancies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure billing accuracy and adherence to pricing and service agreements.
- Develop and maintain efficient billing procedures and systems.
Data Management: - Oversee data storage, backup, and retention strategies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Implement data quality assurance practices to maintain accurate and consistent data.
Budgeting and Financial Management: - Create and manage the MIS department's budget, optimizing resource allocation.
- Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality services.
Vendor Management: - Evaluate, select, and manage third-party vendors, negotiating contracts and SLAs.
- Ensure vendor performance aligns with company objectives and standards.
Technology Strategy: - Develop and execute an IT strategy that aligns with the company's business goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends and recommend technology upgrades and innovations.
Compliance and Security: - Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations relevant to the telecommunications industry.
- Implement and oversee cybersecurity measures to safeguard customer data and systems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong technical knowledge of information systems, networking, and telecommunications.
- Proficiency in billing and financial management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of LInux systems and CLI.
- Understanding of SQL database administration.
- Foundational understanding of programming principles (object oriented, functions, etc.) with a well-known language (Python preferably).
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic startup environment and drive change.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
Basic Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management and billing administration.
- Experience with network infrastructure, database management, and billing systems.
- Experience scripting and programming.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
- Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications & Competencies
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, ITIL, PMI).
- Experience working in the telecommunications or ISP industry.
- Familiarity with fiber optic technology and related services.
