Our Construction Building Products division provides the Titebond brand of glues, adhesives and sealants for use in woodworking and all facets of residential and commercial construction. We are hiring a Mixing Operator for 1st shift. Essential Job Functions:
- Must strictly adhere to all Franklin and Site EHS policies and procedures (PPE, LOTO, scrap, waste disposal, accident reporting, etc.).
- Refer to mixing formulas for proper amounts, weights and sequences of chemicals required for batch mixes.
- To operate multiple type mixers blending computer added, as well as manually added chemicals into a wide variety of caulks, sealants & glues and cleaning vats and mixers when required.
- To work closely with lab techs and engineering personnel while mixing experimental batches, correcting out of specification material and/or performing re-work procedures.
- To perform quality control checks when required ensuring that every batch meets lab provided specifications.
- Manage/ handle all chemicals and raw materials used in the production of caulks, sealants, & glues to ensure that they are stored and handled in the correct manner as specified by SDS guidelines.
- Capable of operating a forklift and becoming certified.
- As directed, carry out any other tasks of equal or less difficulty.
- To maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner, especially at the close of each day.
- To maintain and produce accurate written production records on every batch made.
- To receive and relay vital verbal communication with co-workers concerning daily production strategies on assigned mix lines and any operational or safety concerns.
- To become knowledgeable of all caulks, sealants, & glues made within the department and the equipment and materials used in producing them.
- Support and participate is site Safety programs and Continuous Improvement Initiatives
Education/Experience/Skills:
- High School Diploma or GED required. A.A./A.S. degree in a Technical discipline or 3 - 5 years' industrial related experience preferred.
- Maintain a positive attitude, address concerns in a positive way.
- Display strong Teamwork and Initiative.
- Ability and willingness to work cross-functionally.
- Excellent work and safety record.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical.
