The Mobile Youth Health Center Clinic Driver will provide clinical and administrative assistance to the Mobile Clinic Staff in scheduling, registering and managing patients. In addition, this position is responsible to drive the Mobile Clinic to and from the designated areas, assisting in the delivery of treatment to patients and assisting in the maintenance of the vehicle**JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Drives the mobile clinic to and from the designated areas, complying with all motor vehicle codes and regulations.

* Assists in maintaining the mobile clinic vehicle by providing minor mechanical, preventive maintenance functions.

* Provides cleaning services of vehicle as directed.

* Report minor mechanical preventive maintenance needs to Mobile Services Coordinator.

* Prepares the mobile clinic to receive patients and visitors. Sets up equipment as needed.

* Turns on and off all necessary equipment (autoclave, water, compressor, x-ray processor, etc.) at the beginning and end of each day.

* Assists in operatory equipment maintenance through proper cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of all equipment and instruments.

* Escorts patients to and from van.

* Assists in patient intake, which includes creating patient account, inputting all patient and billing information, and scanning documents into the electronic health or dental record.

* Schedules mobile clinic patients and confirms all appointments. Ensures that cancelled slots are filled in with other patients.

* Communicates daily and directly with patients, care providers, community partners and clinical staff throughout the Mobile Youth Health Center, the Community Health Department, and Star Community Health Dental services.

* Familiarizes self with each patient and their scheduled treatment and to be fully prepared to assist the clinic staff.

* Provides outreach services as necessary, when requested by clinical staff.

* Provide cleaning services after each daily use of vehicle as directed.

* Analyze problem situations, respond appropriately to provide reasonable solutions, and report problem and actions to Mobile Services Coordinator.

* Respond appropriately to patients and families or significant others that are exhibiting aggressive behavior, according to network policy.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:**

* Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.

* Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.

* Demonstrates/models the Networks Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).

* Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.

* Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.

* Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.

* Maintain patient consents, schedule patients for clinics.

* Serve as liaison between school nurses and van personnel.

**OTHER FUNCTIONS:**

* Assists in providing CPR if necessary.

* As necessary, assists mobile van team as able.

* Other duties deemed necessary.

* Driver must be proficient in Epic and Microsoft Office 365 tools.

* Acts as driver and supervises use of health vans to health fairs and parades during evenings and weekends, as assigned.

**PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:**

Individual must be able to meet established specific physical requirements of the job, sitting for up to eight (8) hours/day, four (4) hours at a time; standing for up to five (5) hours/day, 4 hours at a time.

Frequent handling and firm gripping in moving equipment; occasionally fingering and twisting/turning. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and walking of objects weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance. Frequent squatting, and kneeling, occasional stooping/bending, crouching, and reaching above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general vision and color vision, and depth perception.

**POTENTIAL ON-THE-JOB RISKS:**

Cuts, and punctures, exposed to biological hazards Risks minimized by adherence to O.S.H.A., MSDS guidelines, and infection control education.

Employees who work in patient care areas where they may have potential exposure to patients with suspected or proven tuberculosis (TB) must have the ability to wear a particulate respirator and be fit-tested in compliance with the current recommendations from the CDC (enforced by OSHA) or must provide physician documentation as to the inability to wear a particulate respirator.

**MOST COMPLEX DUTY:**

Working within the electronic health or dental record. Assisting patients, community partners, and staff in provision of delivered services.

**SUPERVISION (RECEIVED BY AND/OR GIVEN TO):**

Supervised by the Director, Clinical Integration. Accountable to the Accountable to Star Community Health Regional Dental Manager when supporting Star Community Health Mobile Dental Services.

**COMMUNICATIONS:**

Must possess strong verbal and written skills to communicate effectively with the staff, patients, and community partners.

**QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM)**

**EDUCATION:**

High School Diploma or equivalent.

**TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:**

Must possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania drivers license in good standing. Certification in CPR required. Must be attained within 60 days of hire if not prior to hire.

Mechanical abilities preferred, and strong driving skills required. Strong customer service and some computer skills required. Some health care experience preferred. Electronic health record experience preferred. Bilingual skills in English and either Spanish or Arabic preferred.

**WORK SCHEDULE:**

Monday Friday day shift, with rare evening and weekend hours. A flexible schedule is mandatory.
