ABOUT THE ROLE:The Mobile Housing and Retention specialist will support 10 family seeking for culturally-specific services with connection to Regional Long-Term Rent Assistance (RLRA) through Home Forward, housing search, placement, and supportive retention services to achieve housing stability. This role works to identify suitable rental properties, assist with applications and leasing agreements, and provide ongoing support to ensure housing stability. Additionally, the Mobile Housing and Retention Specialist will provide retention support services to families to prevent homelessness and ensure housing stability.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide housing placement and retention support services to families referred through the family system coordinated access case conferencing process.
- Work with families to develop individualized housing plans and identify supportive services to promote housing stability.
- Assist families with completing housing applications and other required paperwork.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with resident services staff, property managers, and management companies.
- Provide ongoing support to families, including assisting with rent payments and connecting them with necessary services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all participant interactions and services provided.
- Attend weekly case meetings to review case files, discuss progress and challenges, and coordinate services with other team members.
- Attend and participant in trainings, meetings, and other professional development opportunities as required to maintain current knowledge and skills related to housing and homelessness issues.
- Adherence to El Programa Hispano Catlico policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Unless an item or section is labeled required, we consider any combination of relevant work experience, volunteering, education, and transferable skills qualifying. Please be clear and specific about how your background is relevant.
- Must be bilingual (Spanish/English) and bi-culturally competent.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing in Spanish and English.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience and knowledge working with a broad range of issues affecting homeless Latinx/ Hispanic and other BIPOC communities (Black, Indigenous, or People of Color).
- Intermediate proficiency in all programs of Microsoft Office; experience with data entry.
- Demonstrate judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential matters.
- Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in team setting, as well as independently; be flexible and adapt well to different dynamics in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to support organizational and program specific mission and goals.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Access to a reliable motor vehicle. Must have driver's license, ability to obtain automobile insurance at levels required by agency (100/300/100).
- Satisfactory results from civil, criminal and motor vehicle background check required.
COMPENSATION: $24/hr. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience.LOCATION & TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: The majority of work performed by this position is accomplished in person through frequent in-person meetings with participants for home/community visits. Ability to work from home may be available for administrative tasks, this is based on performance. On-site work is located at EPHC's offices in Gresham, OR.
