This role involves maintaining and repairing HVAC systems and other building components in a mobile capacity.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain HVAC equipment (cooling towers, boilers, pumps, RTUs, air handlers, etc.)
- Perform repairs on plumbing, drywall, masonry, asphalt, gates, and HVAC systems
- Provide 24/7 on-call support, including during storms
- Deliver high-quality customer service and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Assist Facilities Manager and Chief Engineer with projects and daily requests
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair work on facility systems, equipment, and components
- Conduct facility inspections and due diligence efforts
- Respond to emergencies effectively
- Perform regular rounds and report deficiencies to Chief Engineer
- Comply with safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping
- Identify and propose solutions for safety hazards
- Ensure compliance with state, county, and city ordinances, codes, and laws
- Support after-hours building activities as required
- Attend periodic training seminars
Work Environment:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Capable of working outdoors in diverse weather conditions
Reporting Structure:
- Reports to Chief Engineer
Required Qualifications:
- Universal EPA 608 Certification
- Minimum 4 years of technical experience in building engineering, with strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment repair and maintenance
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and climb up to 30 ft. ladders
- Willingness to perform on-call duties and overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of MEP/HVAC system design and application
- Experience with work order management and CMMS technology
- Previous facilities service role experience
- Carpentry skills
