Job DescriptionThe mobile mechanic apprentice position will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, installing, and servicing of mobile equipment. In addition, this position will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of various diesel systems and sub-systems and equipment ensuring the work is performed in accordance with the OJT guide and all relevant codes and safety standards.Responsibilities & Duties
- In a training capacity and under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor perform Inspection, repair,
- installation and servicing of mobile equipment
- In a training capacity and under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor perform repair and maintenance
- of engine and engine management systems
- In a training capacity and under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor perform examine exhaust, intake,
- and emission control to diagnose issues
- In a training capacity and under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor perform troubleshoot, repair or
- replaces parts in the electrical system
- In a training capacity and under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor perform troubleshoot, repair or
- replaces parts in the hydraulic and pneumatic system
- In a training capacity and under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor troubleshoot, repair or replaces
- parts in clutches, transmissions, drive train, steering, suspension and braking systems
- In a training capacity and under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor troubleshoot, repair or replaces
- parts in heating, AC, ventilation, and auxiliary air systems
- In a training capacity and under the guidance of an OJT monitor/mentor troubleshoot, repair or replaces
- parts in wheels, tires, body and trim on diesel equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic skills and knowledge of mechanical concepts.
- Basic computer and MS office suite software knowledge
- Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Valid Drivers License
