A plastics manufacturing client in Forest Lake, Minnesota is searching for a Tooling Design Engineer on 1st shift. This person will be brought on to plan and develop robust designs per customer specifications. We are looking for someone who comes from a Tooling and CNC Machining background and has experience working with CREO. This person will report direct to the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with customers to ensure the product will conform to their requirements and meet their needs.
- Assist customers with part design issues, thus creating more robust designs.
- Create detailed written communication documenting processes to be used.
- Work cooperatively with all employees.
- Take responsibility to see jobs are completed when due.
- Develop, evaluate and improve mold building techniques.
- Communicate at a high level both internally and externally.
Skills Needed:
- Preferred 2-year trade school with emphasis on tool making or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Mold Designer
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills; effective business correspondence and reporting; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business operating systems; proficient in the use of design and/or programming software such as Creo and Solid works.
- Knowledge of engineering or technical operations; knowledge of blue print reading; skilled in the use of design and/or programming software and various other manufacturing systems; an understanding of component and/or mold manufacturing and ability to make decisions on in process tolerancing.
- Ability to perform daily tasks safely; to work independently with limited supervision; to be able to solve practical problems and work effectively with customers, vendors and other departments.
Salary of $80-95K annually, flexibility on base salary depending on experience level
