- Coordinate molding functions including operation of molding machine, core set, and poring furnace and ensure availability of required cores and supplies.
- Assist in changing patterns and core fixtures, as required.
- Work with production control to ensure that production schedules are maintained.
- Work with maintenance, foundry engineering, melt, pattern shop and core room personnel to minimize downtime for mechanical, tooling or core related issues.
- Ensure that proper safety and quality practices are being observed by department personnel.
- Train and schedule sufficient personnel to meet department schedules and provide input to supervisor about the performance of molding personnel.
- Assist with ordering raw materials and supplies.
- Collect and record pertinent data and enter in appropriate file or database.
- Notify supervisor of quality, mechanical, delay or personnel problems and take corrective action within scope of responsibility.
- Assume responsibility for the mold department in the absence of the department supervisor.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner. Utilize delay time constructively by doing housekeeping or other area improvement activities.
- Participate in area continuous improvement efforts including Employee Involvement activities.
- Personal attendance record should remain in compliance with company guidelines.

- Able to work overtime as assigned.
What We Need From You:
- Job may require decimals and fractions, drawings and formulas, measuring instruments and a variety of hand tools.
- Ability to lift up to at least 20 pounds consistently.
- Some judgment to stay in sync with instructions, follow methods, make minor decisions.
- 2-3 years experience preferred.
