Location: Brooksville,FL, USA
The Monitor Technician functions under the direction of the professional nurse. The monitor technician is responsible for cardiac monitor observation and reporting of cardiac rhythm changes to the nursing staff for further investigation when indicated. The Monitor technician will demonstrate knowledge appropriate to the age of the patients served. The monitor tech will follow the escalation policy up to and including calling RRT and/or code blue. Performs other duties incidental to the work described herein.
Education: High school graduate, GED or 3 years relevant experience.
Experience: EKG reading certification. Successful completion of basic dysrhythmia course. Ongoing demonstration of cardiac monitoring competency by reading monitor strips monthly.
Licenses/Certifications: BLS certification required.
