Harrison Gray Search has partnered with a bank with a deep heritage to find a committed and professional Mortgage Department Manager in Southwest Texas. Qualified candidates must have prior management and coaching experience. Must be proficient in secondary market, mortgage regulations, and department infrastructure building capabilities.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees the mortgage process by monitoring loan status and ensuring conformity with terms and products.
- Has the ability to create an efficient mortgage lending workflow with established checks and balances.
- Manages resources to ensure quality mortgage loan service and efficient delivery of products and services to clients.
- Monitors the productivity and budgetary performance of the department and develops new procedures to improve processes.
- Acts as a resource for knowledge on mortgage lending operations and trains and educates personnel on new or changing regulations or procedures to include secondary market experience and support.
- Stays abreast of trends and developments in the local real estate market and competitive environment, as well as changes in rules and regulations pertaining to private and government-insured mortgages.
- Maintains a professional image and adheres to standards consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Markets and promotes the Bank's financial products.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with realtors, builders, and new home sales representatives to develop and retain existing business.
- Monitors overall customer experience and interaction with all parties involved on each individual loan from application to closing.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Mortgage Department Manager must also have reasonable experience as a mortgage lender. It will be incumbent on the department manager to assume lender responsibilities should staffing shortages occur or a need to help facilitate applications. Although their primary purpose will be managing the mortgage lending process it will be critical the Manager has the ability to act as a mortgage lender.JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of mortgage management and lending experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in finance or business (experience in industry may substitute educational degree at Employer's discretion).
- Appropriate licenses
- Interacts with all departments, as well as realtors, sales agents, builders, appraisers, etc.
- Demonstrated judgment and decision-making ability. Excellent and effective presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong public relations skills
- Ability to quickly assess and process substantial amounts of data and use of appropriate software technology.
- Continue to expand knowledge of issues influencing the industry and the organization.
