The Mortgage Loan Originator Associate provides administrative and sales support to community mortgage loan originators in order to facilitate timely and efficient mortgage sales processes. This position is primarily administrative in nature and provides intermediary support between lenders, customers, and loan processing staff.

Provides assistance to the Community Lending Manager and Community Lenders in order to ensure loan documents are accurately and timely submitted to loan processing.

Verifies loan application details; confirms all required documents are collected; and, rectifies any errors or incomplete file information.

Registers grants and submits the grant package to the loan administrator; verifies grant decisions.

Assists borrowers with collecting all documents, and explains various letters of explanation as needed with the borrower (such as, alternative credit development, and collecting documentation to support the alternative credit requirements).

Assists borrower with understanding any procedures necessary to clear any closing conditions, and ensures all documentation is in order.

Schedules loan closings.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or its equivalent required. Requires a minimum of 6 months of mortgage operations experience, preferably with CRA lending experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS This position requires registration through the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Applicants must either (1) have an active NMLS ID that is in good standing, which is transferred to North Shore Bank's registry, or (2) must be willing to register prior to start date. Your employment with North Shore Bank is contingent upon successful registration and annual re-registration thereafter.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite; have exceptional communication skills; and, the ability to present information (verbal and written) in a friendly and professional manner.
