You are passionate about helping customers reach their dreams of becoming homeowners with prior mortgage lending experience. As a Mortgage Loan Originator I, your responsibilities would include originating and underwriting conforming and non-conforming residential mortgages through sales. This person's primary responsibility will be to obtain new loan origination through sales to existing and prospective customers. This position will also continually identify, develop, and maintain a network of centers of influence that serve as a recurring source of referrals. Learning the fundamentals of the mortgage lending business. Expanding production of mortgage loans by developing full relationships with clients by working with centers of influence while managing and minimizing loan delinquency. Developing prospects through networking and referrals from branch personnel and centers of influence. Interviewing prospective clients to analyze the best mortgage option to best suit their needs. Documenting and closing loans according to bank policy. Analyzing client financial needs to determine suitable bank offerings and promoting financial services and products (i.e., deposit, insurance, investment, trust) for the purpose of referrals to personnel in branch offices. Requirements:Education & Experience - Bachelor's Degree AND 2-4 years of previous related mortgage lending experience and/or training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Certifications - NMLS (within 1 year of employment) Special Requirements - Travels to and from sales calls. Skills - You should possess well-developed abilities and a proven track record in the following areas:
- Proven experience in mortgage lending with a strong knowledge of current mortgage products, regulations, and underwriting requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with customers, realtors, and community organizations.
- Exceptional communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Capable of critical thinking and assessing complex situations.
- Highly attentive to detail with strong organizational abilities.
