The Mortgage Origination and Servicing Quality Control Manager is responsible for providing conduct of quality control reviews and reporting performance with the line of business managers. Manage staff, performance expectations for Quality Control program and ensure compliance with regulatory and agency guidelines when reviewing loan file documentation.
Loan Origination Quality Control
* Develop, implement, and execute a mortgage origination quality control program in accordance with Bank policy and agency/investor standards.
* Work with established staff and quality control checklists to enhance and improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the loan origination QC process.
* Ensure critical origination defects are corrected in a timely manner.
* Conduct analysis of identified defects in the origination QC process to understand root causes and provide early warning of problem areas or trends that need corrective action. Work with management on effective action plans to respond to identified QC defects.
* Provide timely reporting to management on results of all QC reviews.
* Stay abreast of origination quality control best practices and adjust the Old National Bank Loan Origination QC Program as applicable.
* Conduct monthly Quality Control Manager meetings - review reports and discuss trending and re-occurring defects.
* Assist in internal/external, agency, investor, and/or third-party vendor audits.
* Engage and provide appropriate oversight of third-party service providers performing quality control review functions.
* Engaging and coordinating secondary quality control process and oversite of third-party service provider (TENA), including Check the checker audit reviews.
* Maintain relationship and settings for ACES quality control platform and questionnaires, including exceptions, reporting, and access.
Mortgage Servicing Quality Control
* Develop, implement, and execute a mortgage servicing quality control program in accordance with Bank policy and agency/investor standards.
* Conduct analysis of identified defects in the servicing QC program to understand the root cause & provide early warning of problem areas in order that corrective action is taken to avoid unnecessary risk or expense. Work with management, servicing, and collections team to develop effective corrective Action Plans that will reduce or eliminate material defects identified in the QC reviews.
* Assist in internal/external, agency, investor, and/or third-party vendor audits related to servicing, default, and loss mitigation, as necessary.
* Engage and provide appropriate oversight of third-party service providers performing quality control review functions. Maintain relationship and process for MBS servicing quality control platform, including exceptions, reporting, and overall process. Work with third-party vendor to provide quality control report to management on a quarterly basis and create a summary report for Operating Committee.
* Stay abreast of mortgage servicing quality control best practices and regulatory requirements and adjust the Mortgage Servicing QC Program as applicable.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
* Minimum 10 years' experience in the Mortgage Industry, proficient knowledge of government and conventional mortgage lending and secondary market experience. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
* 5+ years Supervisory or managerial experience
* Must have excellent analytical skills, including the ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations.
* Deep understanding of agency/investor requirements for origination and servicing quality control.
* Strong analytical skills and demonstrated decision-making ability. Able to collaborate with others in a team setting in a time sensitive environment.
* Able to rapidly adapt to changing information, conditions, and/or unexpected opportunities. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and ability to interact with all levels of employees, management, internal and external examiners.
* Must have good project management and time management skills with the ability to effectively oversee multiple assignments with minimal supervision while meeting departmental performance measures.
* Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to exercise discretion and tactful handling of sensitive and confidential issues.
* 5+ years Underwriting experience necessary, including knowledge of agency underwriting guidelines.
Key Measures of Success/Key Deliverables:
* Appropriate management of quality control timeframes set by Agencies, Investors, and third-party affiliates.
* Issue quality control reporting in a timely manner with clear insight and details regarding exceptions Include action plans, training recommendations and trending information, as necessary.
* Timeliness and accuracy of communicating/implementing new policies and procedures. Proficient handling a variety of tasks and priorities throughout the day, moving seamlessly between tasks and assisting team as needed.
Loss Mitigation- Reduce overall monetary losses to the line of business and the Bank-
* Oversee repurchase demands, challenges, rebuttals, and management reporting. Ensures competent discourse of rebuttals with internal stakeholders related to identified variances and defects to mitigate losses.
