Alternatives Federal Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Originator/Underwriter to join our Lending Team. Alternatives is a Community Development Financial Institute (CDFI) credit union serving Tompkins and surrounding counties, and is proud to find solutions for those left behind by the mainstream financial institutions. CDFIs share a common goal of expanding economic opportunity in low-income communities by providing access to fair financial products and services for local residents and businesses.The Mortgage Originator/Underwriter will collaborate with other members of the lending team and borrowers throughout the mortgage process. This is a full-time position, which may be considered for a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will be mission driven, have strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to multitask under pressure, and work in a team based environment. Lending experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
