POSITION OVERVIEWWe are seeking a full-time Hair Supervisor to train as soon as possible. The Hair Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the design integrity of the show, purchasing products. This position will report to the Wig Designer and Company Management.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESJob responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Styling and cutting of all Hair textures.
- Wig Styling, Maintenance, and repair. Fit wigs and hairpieces. Wig making skills for minor repairs and alterations.
- Work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Maintain awareness of health and safety issues and legislation.
- Running the principal hair track.
- Styling/maintenance/cleaning of lace front wigs.
- Assisting in quick changes.
- Overseeing the hair crew.
- Training hair crew and vacation swings.
- Purchasing and maintaining inventory of products.
- Keeping track and submitting payroll.
- Maintaining and updating the bible.
- Putting new actors into the show.
- Attending rehearsal that require Actors to be in costume and wigs.
- Managing the hair team diplomatically, and compassionately.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS
- Looking for people, preferably experienced on Broadway.
- Seeking someone that has 2 years' experience doing makeup and hair for shows.
- Cosmetology or barber license.
- Styling and cutting of all Hair Types.
- Wig Knotting/Repair/Alterations.
- Organizational and Communications Skills
- Need to be a Local 798 member
- If hired, there will be required DEI training and Hair Supervisor will being responsible for maintaining that learning in the room.
