ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Operate tools and equipment and use safe work habits.
- Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors.
- Install tool boxes under or on trailers.
- Mount tires on suspensions.
- Clean trailers after assembly.
- Pinstripe or sticker trailers.
- Mount fenders and mud flaps.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Lay out, position, align, and secure parts using hand tools and measurement tools.
- Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout and assembly.
- Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
- Position and secure work pieces using hoists, cranes, wire, and banding machines or hand tools.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
- Set up and use ladders and platforms as necessary to complete work in a safe manner.
- Other duties as assigned.

- High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) preferred.
- Strong mechanical ability and/or experience required.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret drawings and prints.
- Ability to accurately use and read micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment, including hoists and cranes.

- Ability to stand, walk, climb, crawl, and bend for extended periods of time.
