**Job Summary**

Under thegeneral direction of the Manager of Custodial Services, this position will assist with the moving and event setup and breakdown operations of the University.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Assist and complete campus moves and event setups.

* Enter time into integrated facilities management system.

* Assist in the proper handling of surplus property for re-use and recycling.

* Ensure that vehicles and equipment used for moving purposes are properly maintained.

**Knowledge Skills and Abilities**

Knowledge of tools and skills of the trade as demonstrated by a practical exam. Ability to perform strenuous manual labor associated with moving. Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance. Experience working in a university or large institutional setting. Solid work record with a strong emphasis on personal integrity. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to perform basic daily record-keeping using a computerized system. Follows all University and department policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Maintains a safe work environment. Communicates with the University community in a civil manner.

Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a vision of excellence.

**Education and Experience**

Equivalent to a high school diploma and a solid work history required. Equivalent to six months of experience as a trades assistant or laborer, or six months of hands-on experience in general facilities and systems maintenance and repair work preferred. Valid California Drivers License required and Certified forklift operators license preferred.

The salary range for this classification is $3,120 to $5,048 per month.

**Time Base**

Full-time temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

**Additional Information**
