Job Description:
Job Title: MRI Technologist Location: New York, NY 10011 Duration: 2 Months Job Summary: The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing MRI imaging procedures and ensuring the diagnostic quality of images. This role involves operating specialized equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and following safety protocols. The technologist will work closely with physicians and ensure proper maintenance of imaging rooms and equipment. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform MRI imaging procedures and operate specialized equipment as required.
  • Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, ensuring optimal image quality.
  • Provide patient education about imaging procedures, including instructions and the purpose of the scan.
  • Review patient safety questionnaires and follow MRI safety protocols.
  • Administer opaque media and assist with the use of power injectors under aseptic technique.
  • Label all images per department standards and ensure timely transmission to PACS.
  • Assist physicians as needed during imaging procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness of MRI rooms and equipment, and maintain necessary supplies.
  • Accurately record patient information in IDX (Radiology Information System) and schedule exams as required.
  • Monitor equipment for necessary repairs and report unsafe conditions.
  • Adhere to infection control policies to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Attend professional development and in-service meetings as required.
  • Maintain licensure and certification in accordance with state regulations and professional standards.
  • Skills Required:
    • Expertise in operating MRI equipment and obtaining high-quality diagnostic images
    • Ability to educate patients on MRI procedures and follow safety protocols
    • Experience in maintaining cleanliness and preparing MRI rooms and supplies
    • Competency in using the IDX Radiology Information System for scheduling and tracking exams
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to assist physicians during imaging procedures
    Education and Certifications:
    • Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T.-approved program in Radiologic Technology
    • New York State License (L.R.T.)
    • NY State IV Certification
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), MRI certified
    • BLS certification
    Languages: English (Speak, Read, Write) Schedule:
    • Hours Per Week: 15.00
    • Days Per Week: 5
    • Hours Per Day: 7.5
    • Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays, 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
    Additional Requirements: MRI ARRT certification required
