Job Title: MRI Technologist Location: New York, NY 10019 Contract Duration: 60 days Shift: Tuesday to Friday 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Hours Per Week: 37.5 Job Summary: The MRI Technologist will perform MRI imaging procedures, operate specialized equipment, and assist in preparing and positioning patients to ensure high-quality diagnostic imaging. This role requires technical expertise, patient education, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform MRI imaging procedures, operating specialized equipment as needed. Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, applying technical judgment to ensure diagnostic quality. Educate patients about MRI procedures, explaining the process and any relevant instructions. Review patient safety questionnaires and follow MRI safety precautions before scanning. Ensure patients are cleared for MRI from zone 2 to zone 3. Assist in administering contrast media and maintain aseptic technique with power injectors. Label images according to departmental protocols and transmit them to PACS in a timely manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization of MRI rooms and equipment, ensuring all supplies are stocked. Schedule exams, record patient information, and ensure timely completion of studies in IDX (Radiology Information System). Report equipment issues or unsafe conditions to supervisors. Follow infection control policies and attend professional development meetings as required. Assist physicians as needed and evaluate radiographs for technical acceptability. Skills Required: Technical expertise in MRI imaging and equipment operation. Strong patient care skills, including the ability to educate and communicate with patients effectively. Knowledge of MRI safety protocols and infection control policies. Experience in administering contrast media and using power injectors. Familiarity with IDX or similar Radiology Information Systems. Education and Certification Requirements: Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T.-approved Radiologic Technology program. New York State License (L.R.T.) and IV certification. ARRT certification with MRI specialty. BLS certification (AHA). This is a 60-day contract position for local candidates, requiring in-person interviews.
