The Quality Assurance Lead position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who doesn't stray away from a challenge. What You'll Do:
- Performs quality control testing and inspection of standard parts, units, equipment, or material to ensure conformance with standards and determine if product meets all requirements.
- Performs a variety of standard testing processes on in-process products or during manufacturing and records and analyzes results.
- Requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment.
- May use automated and manual techniques including ultrasound and radiography to perform non-destructive tests to identify errors or defects in equipment.
- Provide administrative project and/or process support for the Quality department, supporting the corporate Quality staff in all related activity.
- Assist with creating / updating Work Order Records.
- Maintain records, processes, procedures including responsibility for data entry of specific quality related information.
- Assist with quality control reports, and quality control systems.
- Review data for accuracy.
- Assist team with policies and procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Follows all safety rules and practices.
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Perform high level control inspections and quality audits of product.
- Perform a variety of standard testing processes on finished products or equipment and records and analyzes results.
- Requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment.
- May use automated and manual techniques including VT Level II certification to perform non-destructive tests to identify errors or defects in units.
- Follows all safety and quality rules and practices.
- May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
- Reports directly to the QA Lead Supervisor.
- Proficient in the use of inspection tools and measuring equipment.
- Proficient in procedural inspections (maintenance, qualification, customer requirements)
- Required to achieve Level II in VT.
- High School Diploma / GED (Minimum requirement)
- Thorough knowledge of inspection tools and measuring equipment and of operational functions to be inspected
- Must have shown proficiency and knowledge of car owner procedures and inspection processes.
- Must have a valid Drivers License
Qualifications What You'll Need:
- Railcar related Quality Inspection experience
- Working knowledge of and experience with industry specific tests, testing equipment, inspection tools and measuring equipment.
- Working understanding/competency of the AAR (Association of American Railroads) standards/policies
- Level II VT, or ability to obtain it
- Must be able to pass a Technical Performance Evaluation every 3 years as required by the Industry requirements of AAR MSRP, M-1003
