MS Jumpstart
MS Jumpstart is a national early education organization that is working toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. MS Jumpstart's core mission is carried out by caring college students from our higher education partner sites around Mississippi. Corps Members are trained to deliver a proven curriculum designed to foster academic achievement and confidence in young children with targeted focus on language and literacy skills. All Jumpstart Corps Members must be enrolled as students at an Institute of Higher Learning in Mississippi. Members serve approximately 10-12 hours per week. Member Duties : Attend required trainings and member development/service related workshops throughout the year. Accurately record service hours on required timesheets. Provide Jumpstart curriculum to preschool children with a team of peers. Prepare for sessions prior to arrival and provide assistance to assigned teachers as needed.
