MTC PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN I The MTC Production Technician will perform work involving multiple manufacturing processes, including furnaces, automated assembly equipment, and laser cutters, in accordance with customer and internal specifications and work order instructions with direct supervision. Performs operator-level inspection on components in order to verify that the process is manufacturing parts that meet customer expectations with direct supervision. Spends a significant time on the shop floor and may fill in for other production personnel on assigned tasks when needed. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Production-Related Tasks:- Monitor and maintain the following material inventories:
- Gases used in production
- Metal coils/sheets/laminations
- Bonding agents
- Miscellaneous cleaning supplies
- Miscellaneous consumable components
- Maintain strict material I.D. controls on all incoming, outgoing, and in-process material.
- Clean production equipment as directed.
- Perform simple maintenance inspections and tasks.
- Operate simple gages.
- Perform shipping/receiving area duties as assigned.
General Tasks:- Observe safety rules and regulations, including avoiding restricted areas during off limits operations and motivate others to maintain a safe work environment.
- Strict adherence in following all Lockout (LOTO) requirements and assist with development of safety plans.
- Operate all designated powered mobile equipment (forklift, combi-lift, etc.) safely and in accordance with Carpenter Technology Corporation's safety instructions.
- Operate overhead cranes (remote and pendant) safely and in accordance with Carpenter Technology Corporation's safety instructions.
- Adhere to Carpenter Technology Corporation's Quality System, to include strict compliance with department's SOPs, rules, regulations and practices.
- Utilize designated software (Mainframe/Shopfloor, Lotus Notes, SAP, Microsoft Office applications, etc.) to document and report production work.
- Comply with the requirements of the departmental calibration system.
- Maintain production documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Assist co-workers as needed.
- Participate in department initiatives.
- Attend and participate in department meetings.
- Participate in and follow the ISO14001 and AS9100 processes.
- Participate in Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement practices.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area and equipment in accordance with 5S principles; dispose of trash and hazardous material according to department requirements.
- Support and assist all levels of management within the organization in achieving goals and objectives.
- Train others as needed.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MTC PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN I- High school diploma and/or GED required
- Entry level position
- 0-1 years of relevant experience
- This is a 1st or 2nd shift position.
