Certification or Licensure: Georgia teaching (T) certificate in any field; or service (S) certificate in school counseling, social work, or school psychology.Knowledge & Skills: Depth of knowledge of the MTSS model, experience in implementing interventions and student progress monitoring. Knowledge of current research on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional learning (SEL) interventions. Effective coaching skills. Ability to analyze data and use data to drive decision-making. Proficient in intervention management and Microsoft Office programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Strong interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.Work Experience: A minimum of five years of experience working in a public and/or private school setting. Experience with analyzing and disaggregating data to make appropriate instructional decisions. Experience in developing, implementing, and progress monitoring interventions and/or instructional tools for diverse groups of students. Experience in planning and delivering professional learning for adults. Experience with school-based coaching.PRIMARY DUTY The MTSS facilitator is responsible for coordinating the development of a systematic school-wide approach to MTSS. The MTSS facilitator is responsible for working collaboratively with school administrators and staff, the District MTSS coordinator and other district staff to enhance and encourage the effective implementation of Multi-Tiered System of Supports in the assigned school. The responsibility includes the facilitation of data driven problem solving process to maximize the learning outcomes for all students.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESGeneral Duties1. Lead and support the school-level MTSS teams to build capacity and fully implement the MTSS framework.2. Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of the School Action Plan for Georgia's Tiered System of Supports for Students, including school fidelity of implementation and school outcomes3. Assists school in developing strategic plans for intervention and growth for all students4. Ensure that Georgia's Tiered System of Supports for Students improvement strategies are aligned and embedded in the School Improvement Plan (SIP)5. Support the School Team in alleviating barriers that impede implementation of Georgia's Tiered System of Supports for Students framework6. Participate in state, regional, and district trainings and/or meetings to support effective implementation of Georgia's Tiered System of Supports for Students7. Maintains highest level of confidentiality pertaining to school and students' information, progress, and recordsCollaboration8. Make contact with School Team members and District Coordinator on a regular basis.9. Lead and facilitate School MTSS team meeting utilizing the best teaming practices to analyze school data, identify successes and problems and develop a plan to address needs.10. Collaborates with instructional support to facilitate grade-level and/or content level team meetings to advise on the use of data to identify students for tiered intervention and to design intervention plans aligned to students' needs.11. Participate in student support team meeting to advise on the use of data for identified student and provide supporting documentation12. Serve as a liaison to administrators, teachers, counselors, school social workers, school psychologists, and other stakeholders to develop appropriate positive behavior interventions and supports through MTSSProfessional Learning13. Maintain knowledge of evidence-based interventions and share resources to improve student achievement and school climate.14. Assist teachers and staff members in understanding screening, diagnostic and progress monitoring data for the purpose of identification of struggling learners, instruction/intervention design, and evaluating students' response to interventions.15. Customize and facilitate high-quality professional development for teachers and other school staff on MTSS processes based on school needs.Data Collection, Analysis, Monitoring & Intervention Selection16. Collaborate with school staff to ensure the implementation of universal screening for all students (academic, SEL, behavioral, etc.)17. Collaborate with instructional staff to facilitate the review and analysis of effectiveness of Tier 1 core programs18. Utilize knowledge of data collection, analysis, and progress monitoring to identify students for Tier 2 or 3 intervention support19. Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of academic and social-emotional interventions for students in need of support towards meeting standards20. Support grade-level and building-level decision-making based on MTSS data and outcomes21. Monitor data on how students are responding to intervention plans to make adjustments as neededReporting22. Uploading and maintaining documentation and of ongoing intervention plans in the selected data management system23. Maintain records as required by the school, District and/or state (I.e., meeting schedules, minutes, agendas, report of fidelity of implementation, progress, data, outcomes, etc.) and makes appropriate reports as directed to stakeholders24. Collect and submit evidence of ratings for the District Fidelity of Implementation RubricFamily Communication25. Collaborate with school staff to help ensure parents and guardians have an understanding of the MTSS framework and how it can be used to help their child26. Communicate with families regarding student progress and provide strategies families can use at home.Other Duties27.
