Job Description Summary
Job Purpose• Radiologic Technologists provide exams in the field of radiologic imaging to include diagnostic x-ray, c-arm, and bone density to the specifications of the ordering provider and radiologist's needs.• Maintains knowledge concerning radiation protection and safety in addition to infection control and standard precautions.• Preform patient assessments and provide patient care in a timely, professional, efficient, and safe manner.• Cat Scan Technologists review patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results. Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.• May be required to provide coverage for other outreach sites located in Mt. Pleasant, North Charleston, and West Ashley.Education and Work Experience• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.• Minimum of 2 years independent work experience.• Registered in Radiologic Technology• Registered Computed Tomography.Licensures, Registrations, Certifications• Current registration in Radiology from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.• Current registration in Radiology from the American Registry in Computed Tomography.• Current licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.• BLS certification.Degree of Supervision• Employee must be able to work independently with minimal supervision of supervising technologist.Entity

Physical Requirements
Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36” to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces
Additional Job Description
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
Work Experience: 1 year of Radiologic experienceMust be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA), and must obtain Advanced Modality registration within 1 year of hire date.. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
