Listed on London Stock Exchange; Member of the FTSE 250 Index.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and manage quality control systems designed to ensure materials that meet or exceed our customers' expectations. Ensure that these quality systems meet or exceed the requirements of our ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100:D Certifications and are consistent with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals. Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to a team of quality engineers, quality control inspectors, technicians, or professionals. Define roles and responsibilities, communicate expectations, and hold direct reports accountable across the Coudersport and St Marys sites to effectively deliver the essential functions of the QA/QC groups. Provide input to site management meetings including developing and reporting out KPI's on a regular basis. Essential Functions:
  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
  • Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout entire manufacturing cycle.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
  • Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
  • Ensure that documentation and design controls are appropriate for organization.
  • Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with plant managers and engineers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.
  • Apply total quality management tools and approaches to inspection processes.
  • Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement Teams.
  • Manage/perform internal audits.
  • Address Non-Conformances from all internal and external audits.
  • Follow-up on and close pending Preventive and Corrective Action Requests.
  • Overseeing established calibration and testing program.
  • Assisting the management team and provide QA support as necessary.
  • QualificationsMinimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
    • BS degree in Material Science or Engineering is desired.
    • Minimum 5 years related experience desired.
    • Supervisory/management experience desired.
    • Strong understanding of quality management systems in an ISO 9001/AS 9100 is preferred.
    • ASQ certification desired. (CQE or CMQ/OE)
    • Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques preferred.
    • Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
    • Use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection.
    • Computer proficiency.

    • Must be competent with Microsoft Word-Processing, Spreadsheet (Excel) software, and SPC software.

    • Must be able to work well with subordinates, peers and superiors in all departments of the Company
    • Must be able to work well with external contacts of the Company
    • Must have good time management, planning and negotiation skills
