Acquisitions Analyst Responsibilities
The Acquisitions & Asset Management Analyst will work on the following:
Acquisitions:
- Underwrite potential multifamily acquisitions by analyzing historical financial statements and performing market research and analysis.
- Coordinate due diligence efforts with third parties and consultants. Review and analyze due diligence results and compare results to transaction underwriting.
- Create and prepare investment summaries and presentations.
- Assist in preparing annual Investment Budgets and Strategic Planning by collecting and analyzing financial information and researching market conditions.
- Assist in the processing of the various capital market requirements including both debt and equity.
- Research and source acquisition opportunities to include building relationships with owners and brokers in target markets.
Asset Management:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Maintain and update portfolio rollups in MS Excel.
- Prepare financial reporting packages and presentation material for senior management, partners, and third-party clients on a monthly, quarterly and/or annual basis.
- Track, analyze, and forecast trends in financial performance and business plan execution.
- Asset Performance Analysis
- Review weekly operational reports and monitor and report on operational performance.
- Collect and organize data, analyze trends and locate areas of improvement.
- Track and forecast capital projects including unit renovations against the business plan.
- Communicate new policies to operating partners, as directed.
- Visit properties as directed.
Investor Relations:
- Prepare prospective investment packages for investors and assist in the presentation of new deals to prospective investors.
- Prepare investor reports and respond to inbound inquiries.
- Assist in managing IMS (investor management system).
- Special Projects and Duties
- Assist with disposition and refinance requests across the portfolio.
- Coordinate lender requests with operations teams.
- Complete Special Projects and additional duties as assigned.
Other:
- Administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher with a major in real estate, business, finance, economics or related field.
- Must have at least 1.5 years of experience underwriting multifamily assets, preferably for a multifamily owner/operator/sponsor.
- Candidates with strong backgrounds in other areas, such as commercial mortgage banking firms, financial institutions, or accounting firms, will also be considered.
- Excel, PowerPoint, and Word experience a must along with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with financial models that include complex financial and waterfall analysis.
- Attention to detail and a desire to produce the highest quality work product.
- Superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex and diversified work-streams in a fast-paced environment.
- A flexible team player who takes initiative and is dedicated, hard-working, and has an ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Desire to work in a small, entrepreneurial environment. Self-starting and motivated.
- Desire to work from our Midtown Manhattan office 4 to 5 days per week.
Compensation Range:
- The annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 with the opportunity for a discretionary bonus and interest in the GP economics.

- Founded in 2019, Matador Capital Management is a privately held real estate investment firm focused on the acquisition and management of value-add and core-plus multifamily real estate primarily in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast and Midwest parts of the U.S. Matador currently is invested in ~4.5k units across 10 states. Our current portfolio consists of 15 properties. Matador's key focus and competitive advantage is efficient, effective asset management to drive strong returns for our investors. Matador invests as a General Partner, co-GP, and in select LP positions (as active partners).
- The firm is based in Midtown Manhattan and this role will work directly with the Principal and Founder, Larry Bank.
