Position Summary:The WDAV Multiplatform Producer is a primary content creator for WDAV. This position requires a broadcast generalist whose responsibilities might include but are not limited to music scheduling, program hosting, writing, editing, audio production, operations and other content creation responsibilities. The work done in this position may be for digital distribution, broadcast, or for both methods of consumption. The position provides depth for the content creation bench and key areas of station operations.What you'll be doing?Multiplatform Producer Responsibilities:* Provide an engaging, knowledgeable and professional presence when hosting programming* Schedule appealing and appropriate classical music selections for broadcast and streaming in accordance with station programming guidelines* Write, record and produce audio content for programs, promotions, fundraising, underwriting, and other purposes as necessary for use in broadcast and online platforms* Participate in WDAV fundraising activities and campaigns* Make public appearances to represent WDAV at community and station sponsored eventsWhat do you bring?Minimum Qualifications:* Curiosity, creativity, and a desire to share your passion for the arts in general, and classical music in particular* Familiarity with, and an affinity for, classical music and public media* Experience or demonstrable ability in program hosting, public speaking, storytelling or information sharing, whether in a professional, academic or volunteer setting* Strong writing, editing, and communication skills* Strong organizing skills* Openness to working some evenings and holidays when there are major events (up to approximately eight times per year)* Inclination toward seeking clarity and creating an atmosphere of mutual benefit and understanding* Eagerness to contribute to a mission-driven organization that fosters excellence, community-mindedness, and radical inclusion* Collaborative work style* Intrinsic motivation to perform job functions with excellence in order to grow personally and professionally and to create the best possible outcomes for WDAV* Adaptable/flexible personality that demonstrates an ability to prioritize and re-prioritize with grace, based on the quickly changing needs of the organization - especially during busy seasonsDesired/Preferred Skills & Abilities:* Basic knowledge of classical music eras, forms, practices, artists and ensembles; this knowledge does not need to be academic but should reflect familiarity with the art form and an appreciation of it* Experience or demonstrable ability with software programs such as WDAV uses for music scheduling, program hosting, audio production and other tasks as assigned, whether in a professional, academic or volunteer setting. (such as MusicMaster, Wide Orbit, Adobe Audition)* Familiarity with social media platforms* Familiarity with web content management systems such as WordPress a plus* Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Workplace, Zoom, and Slack a plus* Previous experience creating content for broadcast media or podcasting a plusAs a part of your application materials, a resume and cover letter are required.
