The Town of Timmonsville is seeking a qualified, fair-minded, and dedicated individual to serve as Municipal Judge. This key role ensures justice is administered impartially within our community, overseeing cases within the town's jurisdiction.**Responsibilities:**
- Preside over municipal court cases including traffic violations, misdemeanors, and local ordinance infractions.- Ensure compliance with legal procedures and the protection of defendants' rights.- Issue rulings, fines, and penalties in accordance with South Carolina law.- Manage courtroom proceedings efficiently and professionally.**Qualifications:**
- Prior experience in judicial or legal roles preferred.- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal laws applicable to municipal courts.- Excellent decision-making, communication, and ethical standards.**Term & Compensation:**
