THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, your primary responsibilities involve engaging with local government officials to deliberate on various proposed projects such as highway relocation, new highway construction, maintenance activities, bridge construction, and related endeavors. Duties will also entail providing technical guidance and clarifying the permissible utilization of liquid fuels funds for these initiatives. Furthermore, you will assess plans and cost estimates developed by consulting engineers, ensuring adherence to Department standards and specifications in terms of materials, construction, and workmanship. Additionally, conducting road type and mileage surveys, verifying mileage additions, and overseeing the allocation of Liquid Fuels Funds to municipalities are crucial tasks. Lastly, the position entails reviewing project completion and expenditure reports, conducting audits as needed, analyzing project data forms, preparing completion forms, budget reports, and necessary correspondence and reports.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

+ Full-time employment.

+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 5 days per pay period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

+ One year of experience as a Transportation Construction Inspector;or

+ Three years of experience either in state and/or municipal roadway construction inspection that included reviewing and interpreting plans, specifications, and cost estimates; or in work involving the interpretation and analysis of state regulations related to municipal construction funding programs; or

+ Two years of experience either in state and/or municipal roadway construction inspection that included reviewing and interpreting plans, specifications, and cost estimates; or in work involving the interpretation and analysis of state regulations related to municipal construction funding programs; and an associate's degree; or

+ One year of experience either in state and/or municipal roadway construction inspection that included reviewing and interpreting plans, specifications, and cost estimates; or in work involving the interpretation and analysis of state regulations related to municipal construction funding programs; and a bachelor's degree; or

+ Any equivalent combination of experience or training which included one year of experience either in state and/or municipal roadway construction inspection that included reviewing and interpreting plans, specifications, and cost estimates; or in work involving the interpretation and analysis of state regulations related to municipal construction funding programs.
