$26.33 - $42.12 Hourly$54,760 - $87,616 AnnuallyThis position is a Pay Band 70Posting DetailsFunding for this position is between a minimum of $32.62 and maximum of $35.25 an hour.Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within 2 weeks of closing date. Why does the job exist?The position will report to the Staff Manager (Bureau Chief) and assist in daily operations within a Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) Field Office which includes direct supervision of staff, program support, system analysis, analyzing costs of existing operation weighing cost/benefit of recommended changes, implementation of validated best practices and process assessment initiatives. How does it get done?This position will be responsible for the following duties: Devotes a substantial portion of time assigning and directly supervising work of at least two (2) permanent/full time employees at the field office. Acts upon leave requests, conducts annual performance evaluations and recommends disciplinary actions. Conducts training of personnel; may interview and recommend selection of applicants. Provides career coaching through mentoring and arranges for outside training opportunities when possible. Makes well-informed, effective, and timely decisions and perceives the impact and implications of those decisions. Identifies and analyzes problems; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; generates and evaluates alternative solutions; makes recommendations. Writes in a clear and concise manner. Help with oversight of all customers in the office and those that are calling on the phone. Trains and tracks employee performance by assigning and evaluating job tasks. Evaluates process flows to ensure work is completed on-time and efficiently and revises workflows if necessary. Promotes quality customer service by applying customer sensitivity practices. Keeps up-to-date with MVD policies and procedures by accessing any changes in the MVD manual. Monitors and evaluates employee performance, assigns tasks and ensures compliance with federal/state laws. Trains new employees, conduct evaluations, and monitor employee performance. Handles and resolves customer complaints and issues and promotes quality customer service. Keeps up-to-date with MVD policies and procedures and disseminates the information for staff. Ideal CandidateThe Ideal Candidate will have experience in: Supervision General office support Excellent phone etiquette Clerical supportAdministrative support Customer service Minimum QualificationBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or Accounting and two (2) years of directly related job experience in the areas of budgeting, accounting, auditing, purchasing, cash management and/or financial management, one (1) year of which must be supervisory. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience. No substitutions apply for semester hours.Employment RequirementsMust possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment. Must be current with all tax reporting/payment. Employment is subject to post offer pre-employment criminal background check to include fingerprint checks and is conditional pending results. Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage with extended periods of sitting.
