Role/ Department: NA Head of Employee Relations/Employee Relations

Responsible for overseeing the North America Employee Relations function, including managing staff workflow; conducting complex and sensitive investigations; and providing global coordination on cross region efforts.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

* Investigating employee relations matters, including under the direction of Legal when necessary; overseeing the North America employee relations portfolio, inclusive of any consequence management outcomes; and global coordination of reporting metrics and global employee relations initiatives with other regional leads.

* Serving as a resource/expert on employee relations as it relates to interpreting company and business unit policies, recommending discipline (for violations of policy), advising on involuntary terminations, and coordinating safety and security related matters. Consults with management, HR, HR Compliance Officer, Legal and Employee Services regarding same.

* Hiring, training, assigning and coordinating the workflow and output of the team; developing periodic goals and priorities, monitoring all activities and ensuring timely and accurate completion of the work.

* Reinforcing adherence to workplace policies and compliance with all relevant federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.

* Identifying specific business unit employee relations needs. Work with appropriate HR and /or business unit Management to plan develop and implement solutions.

* Facilitating improvements in policies, practices, and procedures based on learnings from investigations and from research of industry best practices.

* Independently operating; and acquiring/demonstrating in-depth knowledge of business unit / function.

* Carrying out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional, require collaboration and significant coordination.

Skills/ Qualifications:

* 10 or more years of experience. Is a technical expert with in-depth knowledge in area of Employee Relations.

* Demonstrated in depth knowledge of corporate human resources policies and procedures and applicable human resources laws and regulations (e.g., EEO, ADA, etc.).

* Demonstrated ability to work with internal legal counsel.

* Demonstrated ability to investigate complex and sensitive employee relations matters.

* Top notch organizational skills

* Strong reporting writing skills.

* Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence senior management.

* Knowledge of the attorney-client privilege and what must be done to preserve the privilege in investigations, etc.

* Previous supervisory experience.

* Ability to identify, analyze/evaluate, and resolve ER issues and provide consultation to management.

* Listening, negotiation, and analytical skills are necessary to counsel and coach managers and employees.

* Knowledge of business unit strategies, processes and practices in order to identify ER and HR needs.

* A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience in human resources with managerial experience.
