Hello! My grandson, Ashton, is a 12-year-old boy with ASD. We need someone with experience with special needs & behavioral issues to assist in the morning, and possible weekend respite. Morning hours currently M-Th 7a—1p. Friday's TBD. Details to be discussed. Need own transportation and current insurance to transport to school.Ashton is a wonderful, ‘sweet & salty' (we call him) very intelligent young man. He is non-verbal, has a communication device and uses some sign language. If you know ASL that's a bonus! We can teach what we know, would like to learn and teach him more signs. He does have some behaviors we are working on and need someone who's not afraid to be firm in their convictions and prepared for aggression, although he doesn't get aggressive with new people. Once he's comfortable with you, he will test you. Most aggression is towards himself and myself and his mom. His mom and I will be present daily, but we need assistance.
