Position: National Account Manager - Sales Location: Rockford, IL Type: Fulltime, Direct Hire, Hybrid Position Summary: The National Account Manager is responsible for managing relationships with key accounts, driving revenue growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role involves strategic planning, negotiation, and collaboration with internal teams to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional service to clients. This position is responsible for procuring and maintaining product sales to existing and potential customers, service, problem solving, new initiatives, and all of company's interests to certain customers or groups, which may change from time to time. Responsible for budgeting (each year) and forecasting (monthly) sales for assigned customers. Responsible for creating and monitoring growth plans for assigned customers, products, or groups. Reports to the Director of Sales.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers on specified accounts.
- Understand the needs and objectives of each account and develop tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and product development to deliver integrated solutions to clients.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of agreements with accounts.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and drive strategic initiatives.
- Develop and implement account-specific business plans to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability, tracking progress against targets, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on account status, sales forecasts, and market trends.
- Resolve customer issues and concerns in a timely and effective manner to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
- Manage representatives as necessary to maximize achievement of goals and desired results
- Provide input into new products, new markets, and/or new customers for company to consider.
- Keep company informed of activities and progress with weekly activity reports, a monthly report of customer activity, and timely reports on forecasts and growth plans and on other plausible activity.
- Participate in creation of annual budget forecasts and market plans for company.
- Share information with all appropriate departments of company to help minimize confusion and effort, and maximize end results of the company as a whole.
- Make sure company maintains its reputation as the reliable, on-time quality supplier.
Education, Training & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
- Proven track record of success in sales or account management
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex business situations and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Must be a self-starter and be self-disciplined.
- Must be an advocate for the customer and the business.
- Up to 25-30% travel
- Experience in sales in a consumer products packaging industry (metal and plastics)
- At least 7+ years selling & account management in a manufacturing environment (ideally a packaging manufacturer)
