The National Sales Manager reports to the VP of Aerospace & Defense and leads a team of 3 experienced Regional Account Executives. This role offers the opportunity to travel throughout New England with the opportunity for upward promotion throughout the company.DescriptionCore Responsibilities:* Sales Strategy & Market Growth:* Design and implement targeted sales strategies aimed at achieving corporate goals within the North American defense market.* Identify and pursue growth opportunities, expanding the company's presence in both current and new markets to align with overall business objectives.* Team Leadership & Development:* Guide and inspire a high-performing sales team, driving them to achieve outstanding results.* Cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence, ensuring continuous development and engagement within the sales force.* Forecasting & Performance Reporting:* Create and deliver accurate sales forecasts, budget proposals, and performance analysis to senior management.* Provide insights on key successes, challenges, and opportunities to facilitate data-driven decision-making and strategic direction.* Business Expansion & Strategic Partnerships:* Proactively seek out new business avenues by establishing and nurturing relationships with government agencies, contractors, and key stakeholders in the defense sector.* Forge strong, long-term partnerships to support sustained business growth.* Market Insights & Product Development:* Monitor industry trends, customer feedback, and competitor movements to spot opportunities for product innovation and refinement.* Collaborate with product teams to ensure sales strategies are in sync with market needs and technological advancements.* Customer Acquisition & Territory Development:* Actively identify and approach potential customers, securing new sales and exploring untapped regions for business growth.* Develop strategic plans to enter new territories, expanding the company's footprint across North America.* Industry Networking & Lead Generation:* Represent the company at industry conferences, trade events, and networking forums to promote the organization's technical offerings and generate business leads.* Leverage industry relationships to enhance the company's visibility and create new sales opportunities.Profile* Bachelor's Degree (preferably in a technical field)* 7+ years related technical sales experience with engineered solutions in the defense industry.* Strong understanding of sales principles and techniques, with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team to achieve targets and exceed expectations.* Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.* Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the proven ability to identify market trends and opportunities.* Trustworthiness, integrity, manageable ego and a good sense of humor are all essential!* Willing to travel 50%* Ideal location is in NortheastJob OfferBase Salary Range: $165k + 40% commissionOpportunity to travel throughout New England areaCareer upward mobility/Opportunity to manage sales teamClose company culture/Positive Work EnvironmentHealth BenefitsMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
