The National Beverage Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing the national beverage sourcing for the company to continue to be positioned as the adult beverage authority and maximize revenue. This full-time, exempt position is responsible for providing excellent sourcing for all store locations. There will be heavy interaction with all corporate employees, consultants, vendors, and store teams in this role. The ideal candidate will thrive in a creative environment and embrace the challenges of operating food and beverage in an airport setting. The role is responsible for implementing the beverage vision and is ultimately accountable for the beverage program's success.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Go above and beyond in every aspect of your job; show initiative, ownership, and enthusiasm
* Strengthen the Paradies Lagardre Dining Division and Vino Volo as the adult beverage authority by strategic sourcing; Source high quality adult and non-alcoholic beverages that will appeal to customers
* Manage vendor selection, product selection, contract negotiation, product performance, analysis, program development, product quality and evaluation
* Forecast sourcing needs and implement strategy and policies
* Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, distributors, and partners.
* Develop and streamline processes for vendors to present their products
* Track purchasing activity and measurements
* Provide necessary guidance, training, and systems to store teams to ensure goals are met in program compliance, sales, COGS, and guest satisfaction.
* Build and maintain relevant and timely educational content for continued learning within the organization
* Conduct market research on data from industry publications, industry experts, and our competition; understand the competitive market and business trends, and make proactive business decisions to ensure profitability and growth
* Develop and implement purchasing strategies for products, securing exclusive deals on a regular basis
* Negotiate cost, distribution and marketing with vendor partners and distributors
* Coordinate product roll-out and pricing with regional and store management
* Drive deals that increase margins while maintaining standards for high quality
* Review store-level adult beverage programs for quality, pricing, mix, and inventory level
* Oversee planning and execution of Paradies Lagardre Dining Division and Vino Volo's adult beverage related training experiences and industry events
* Maintain strong working relationships with various leaders in management, partners, and operations; build teamwork interdepartmentally and externally facilitating store and corporate collaboration
* Attend and contribute to regular operations meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments
* Further your own knowledge and discovery of beverage by reading, tasting, visiting stores, achieving certifications; share your knowledge with others
* Participate in networking events, seminars, courses, and other activities to advance company initiatives and your own professional development
* Extensive travel to visit stores, attend meetings/conferences, meet with suppliers
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
* Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent) as well as having a working knowledge of sales systems (POS) and inventory management software
* Possesses a highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality; excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
* Engaging educator and speaker with experience executing wine courses/classes virtually and in-person.
* Proven people management, motivation, and developmental skills to be an inspirational leader to the organization
* Working knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, mixology, bar organization, non-alcoholic beverages and operations
* Previous experience in special events functions and operations
* Ability to consolidate large amounts of data from multiple sources, draw conclusions, and present results in executive ready format. Ability to perform quantitative business analysis
* Excellent organizational, time management, problem-solving and analytical skills
* Ability to structure action plans with timelines and goals
* Highly responsible, reliable, with detailed follow-through; Demonstrates the highest level of honesty and integrity
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum of four (4) years of experience in high end hospitality in a management role, overseeing a world-class beverage program.
* Wine and spirits certification: WSET level 3 or equivalent (i.e. CSW or CMS Level II Certified Sommelier) required
* Prior experience in the adult beverage industry, preferably with experience negotiating high-volume deals
