Position Summary: We are currently hiring Nationally Certified Medical Assistant / Phlebotomy Technicians (Bilingual Spanish/English) for our School Based Health Care Centers based out of elementary ,middle and high schools. Health Care Services Representatives, or 'HCSR II s', are Nationally Certified Phlebotomists that possess a Medical Assistant Certificate. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant AND National Certification as Phlebotomy Technician required OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), required.
  • Candidates with previous experience in a health care or school based setting strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children and adolescents, a strong plus.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required.
  • Knowledge of taking vital signs, phlebotomy, and medical administration tasks.
Key Duties:
  • Process blood draws and administers PPDs when required. Collects specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Prepare examination rooms and equipment.
  • Participates in health and wellness activities and health education when required.
  • Obtain vital signs, chief complaints, and medical history and accurately records in medical records.
  • Completes referrals and discharges patients.
  • Assists providers and nurses during all aspects of exams.
  • Assist provider during visit with treatments, examinations, and procedures.
  • Schedules appointments, verifies insurance and demographic information.
  • Processes diagnostic orders.
Starting Compensation: Minimum: $21.00/hour ($43,680 annually); Maximum: $21.00/hour ($43,680 annually) + Additional $1,500 in differential pay. As a full time associate at Urban Health Plan, you'll enjoy:

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule: The HCSR-II's will work onsite within our Bronx based School based health center located at: IS 158 Campus - Dr. Richard Izquierdo Health & Science Charter School - 800 Home St, Room 133 Bronx, NY 10456. PS 333 - 888 Rev James A Polite Ave, Bronx, NY 10459 This position will require a schedule of Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends.
