Under general supervision performs work of moderate difficulty in providing voter registration and election outreach services on the Native American Indian reservation throughout the county; performs related work as assigned.NOTE: This position is stationed in Tuba City, Arizona with occasional travel requirements throughout Coconino County. During election seasons there will be mandatory overtime on evenings, weekends, and holidays.Typical Duties (Illustrative Only)•Recruits and trains poll workers•Recruits and trains Native American interpreters•Conducts early voting activities•Prepares and presents voter registration and election presentations to chapters' meetings and tribal organizations•Assists in planning and conducting voter registration drives•Maintains supply inventories for County Tuba City Elections office•Assists Elections Outreach Coordinator with the development of public presentations and educational materials•Assists with creating elections Native American outreach in language verbal and written translation materials (touchscreen voting equipment, radio station recordings, interpreter handbooks, interpretation of state propositions, and other local entities ballot questions)•Supervises temporary workers and assists in recruitment, hiring and training•Assists in designing order forms, presentation materials such as posters, power point training, handouts, and election calendars•Prepares and maintains records and reports•May assist in researching information regarding a voter's residence address to determine what precinct or political district a registered voter may reside•Assists, coordinates and oversees election polling locations Pre-Election Day and Election Day•Assists in payroll for poll workers training and election day work•Attends meetings with staff, SOS Proposition Translation, Tri-County Elections Outreach, Native American Election Outreach Summit, and other meetings as assigned Minimum Qualifications Two years of progressively responsible experience in community outreach/organizing OR, any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position OR any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license; be a registered voter in Arizona during employment, and able to successfully pass a criminal background check. Must be able to speak Navajo and perform Navajo/English translation. The ideal candidate will be resourceful and motivated to provide voter education and access to election activities for Native American communities in remote locations within Coconino County and have the ability to work independently while representing the County's values and goals. Preferred Qualifications: Customer service experience; Native American community outreach experience; Navajo language proficiency; Experience working in an elections office; Computer and technology experience.
