Job Description:
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Natural Adabas System Administrator to support the migration of the MA21 mainframe application to the AWS Cloud. The role involves managing Adabas/Natural applications in a Linux-based cloud environment, collaborating with development teams, and ensuring database performance and stability to support the One Health Initiative. Key Responsibilities: • Monitor and maintain the stability of Adabas/Natural applications in a Linux server environment. • Design and implement Adabas databases for optimal performance and scalability. • Provide technical support and resolve database-related issues. • Support cloud rehosting efforts for the MA21 mainframe application in AWS. • Administer the Natural development environment and associated Software AG products. • Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures. • Optimize database performance using tools like Adabas Manager and Adabas Performance Monitor. • Perform database maintenance using utilities like ADAREP, ADASAV, and ADAORD. • Use Software AG Update Manager for updates and fixes. • Manage security configurations and certificates for Software AG products. • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, ensuring alignment with agency priorities. • Support scheduling system tasks using administration subsystems like cron. Required Qualifications: • Experience in Linux operating systems (RedHat, SuSe, CentOS) with strong command-line skills. • Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. • Proficiency in Adabas utilities, Natural One, EntireX Communicator, and related tools. • Hands-on experience with database backup, recovery, and performance optimization. • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with stakeholders. • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio. • Familiarity with Jira and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Adabas Database Administrator. • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. • Prior experience in government or healthcare domains. • Knowledge of MA HIX or other state health exchanges. Education: Bachelors Degree
