Job Description:
This position provides assistance in the development, planning, contracting, and application of land conservation practices and programs consistent with Natural Resources Conservation Service policy and procedures.Direct Hire Authority: This position is being filled through the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Direct Hire Authority for this occupation.Responsibilities:Assist in gathering and assembling preliminary data for all resource concerns for use in developing complete basic farm conservation plans, including conducting engineering surveys and preparing drawings for conservation practices common to the area.Assist the District conservationist with coordinating surveys, performing monitoring, compiling/analyzing biological data, and preparing reports using statistical inference where applicable.Assist in the development, coordination, and initiation of all recreational and management aspects of recreational programs to include: preparing regulations, letters of instruction, and news releases; collecting population and biological data, etc.Provide input to the district Conservationist on balancing competing public and private goals for recreational development, commercial development, and natural resource preservation.#J-18808-Ljbffr
