Fueled by innovation, talent and ambition, the Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking civilian professionals prepared to deploy war-winning capabilities on behalf of the United States Air Force.The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time NC3 Systems Manager, GS-0391-12 located at the Enterprise Mission Assurance Branch, Barksdale AFB, LA.This position is a TERM position NOT to exceed 31 Oct 2026, but may be extended or lead to a permanent positionIn the position, you will serve as a major command level telecommunications requirements, implementation manager, nuclear command, control, and communications (NC3) systems specialist, and monitor of telecommunications programs and /or systems of the Air Force NC3 Weapon System and associated NC3 systems assigned across the Air Force to provide the President of the United States, Secretary of Defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other National leaders the worldwide system of systems needed to command and control the Nation's nuclear arsenal throughout the spectrum of conflict.• US citizenship is required• Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI Clearance• This is a designated drug testing position• A minimum of 3 years' experience with COMSEC and cryptologic systems is required.• A minimum of 2 years' experience with NC3 Communications Systems is desirable.• A bachelor's degree is highly desired but equivalent years of experience may be deemed acceptable.• Knowledge of NC3 Systems and associated programmatic activities at the AFGSC level as well as familiarity at the DoD and Air Force level.• Knowledge of a wide range of telecommunications theories, concepts, principles, practices, procedures, policies, standards, operational requirements; and of operational and performance characteristics of telecommunications equipment, systems, services, and transmission media to evaluate devices, proposals, and approaches.• Knowledge of COMSEC and cryptographic theory and operating principles, and the application of existing and planned technology for communications requirements, equipment interoperability and compatibility.• Knowledge of basic electronics theory and operating principles, and the application of existing and planned technology for communications requirements, equipment interoperability, and compatibility.• Desired Experience: Project Management, nuclear command, control, and communications (NC3), communications security (COMSEC), cryptographicClick the apply button to complete an application and upload resume (PDF or Word Doc) and/or additional documents (Transcripts, certifications, Vet Docs (DD214), SF-50).To receive additional information about current and future job openings with AFCS via email notification, please register at www.Afciviliancareers.com and sign up to “Get Career Updates.”AFCS is Equal Opportunity Employer.
