OverviewDesigns, develops, and implements nondestructive testing (NDT) to evaluate the properties and conformance of a material, component, or system without causing damage. Records, analyzes, and reports test results. Maintains & follows test documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements.Major Position ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
- Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
- Develop specific calibrations and tests.
- Document results in accordance with the specification.
- Identifies errors and defects in equipment.
- Use of ultrasound, radiography, or other techniques during the testing process.
- Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
- Maintain or develop procedures, policies, and techniques as necessary.
- Train subordinate personnel in the various NDT disciplines and techniques.
- Maintain documentation for training and experience hours.
Basic QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: (including proficiencies, skills, knowledge, certifications) Required Education: Vocational/Technical Training Degree Discipline/Major: Technical school or an applicable skilled trade programAdditional Certifications: NAS 410 Certification Level 2: State issued industrial radiographer certificate - Ability to achieve Level I or Level 2 certification in alignment with NAS 410 standards, through education, training, and testing, and perform the required Level 2 requirementsYears and Area of Experience (required for the role): 4-6 YearsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities: Technical expertise.
