  • Coordinates network activities to include network design assistance, new product testing, software and hardware upgrades, and technical support.
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves wired and wireless network, hardware, and software problems to include, if necessary, arranging for outside vendor assistance.
  • Oversees network equipment to include purchasing and configuring new hardware and software and scheduling maintenance and repairs.
  • Oversees company phone system to include purchasing and configuring new hardware and software and scheduling maintenance and repairs, including POTs and VoIP systems Works with network security to include maintaining equipment used to protect the network from outside penetration and assists in maintaining a security policy to safeguard access to network data and resources.
  • Manages remote access servers to include designing and implementing private network addressing schemes.
  • Maintain records of network equipment, maintenance, and user-support contracts. Provides end-user support for computer applications, which include designing and generating various reports; creating back-up copies of data sources; and loading new data into systems.
  • Completes special network projects to include researching and testing necessary products, making recommendations, developing standards, overseeing implementation, and documenting the process. Monitors hardware and software to include installing and upgrading applications; configuring programs to meet end-user needs; troubleshooting issues; and reviewing usage reports.
  • Serves as a consultant to department heads and staff by assessing needs and recommending appropriate hardware and software.
  • VoIP deployment and additions, moves and changes.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
  • Performs work during emergency/disaster situations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Associate's Degree in Information Systems, or a related field and zero to two years of progressively responsible network experience related to the area of assignment or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed
  • Valid Driver's License in the state of employment
  • CCNA Net+ or other network related certifications preferred. ITIL v3 Foundations Certification preferred.
Knowledge of: CISCO ASA; Cisco voice products, switches, firewalls, and routers; Dell switches. SonicWALL Firewalls; Solar Winds N-Able; Site to Site VPN connectivity; Protocols (IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, ICMP, SNMP, NTP, FTP, HTTP, DNS, DMVPN, GRE, 802.1x, IPSEC, STP, 802.1q, 802.3af/at); Customer service techniques; Public Key Infrastructure; Budgetary principles; Various computer operating systems; Computer network principles; Network and data security techniques; Company operations; Computer system and services vendors Skill in: Troubleshooting network, telecommunication, and computer systems. Evaluating software upgrades; Managing multiple projects; Analyzing end-user system and program needs; Designing system processes and software applications; Configuring systems and software; Preparing bid specifications; Evaluating vendor bids; Preparing and delivering presentations; Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
