Utilizing industry best practices for security and business continuity, the administrator will design, configure, manage and troubleshoot a variety of network technologies (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS). Manage and maintain firewalls and network security systems. Establish and enforce organizationally defined policies by analyzing network security requirements and implementing security changes. Review centralized logs daily for managed systems and report and respond to anomalous activity.Work within the team to identify and make changes related to network infrastructure and security. Provision and manage Internet access and establish VPNs. Responsible for the performance, maintenance, security, installation, upgrades of LAN/WAN. Maintain current & accurate device inventory. Work within the team to ensure high availability of LAN, WAN and DIA. Ability to troubleshoot and correct moderate to complex network and infrastructure issues. Ability to mentor team members. Must possess project management skills as this position will lead organizational projects. May hold a lead role in DR planning, testing, and implementation. Works with IS Leadership to establish installation & networking standards and to perform audits to ensure the standards are being met.Responsibilities:
- Works primarily within the Information Systems Department and with vendors.
- May occasionally work with other LMHS department staff, physicians or leadership.
- Provides assistance to physicians & external customers.
- Will serve as a direct contract for Vendors & others supporting the network infrastructure.
- Able to read, comprehend, and teach complicated and detailed instructions in order to plan and perform position duties.
- Able to integrate and interpret data from diverse sources in order to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve Information Systems and communication related problems.
- Able to meet deadlines, to plan effectively, pay close attention to details, and follow-up with the customer in a timely fashion.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Computer Science or similar degree, or have acquired equivalent experience as a Network Administrator (3 - 5 years).
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and correct moderate to complex networking issues.
- Will assist with design, testing and implementation.
- Proven ability to fix moderate to complex issues related to hardware and software.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and correct basic networking issues.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar degree, or have acquired equivalent experience as a Network Administrator (3 - 5 years).
- Certifications related to Networking, Security or other Infrastructure preferred.
- Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto and Aruba manufacturers is desired.
