The Network Administrator is a pivotal role within SAIC, performing tier-three transport support and tier-one and two network support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. This role is responsible for the effective administration of both classified and unclassified networks and communication systems, ensuring their performance aligns with established standards of availability, reliability, and throughput.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct periodic security maintenance, firmware updates, and system configuration changes.
- Support operations for three-letter agencies and the Department of Defense (DOD).
- Design and implement network architectures, including LAN/WAN interfacing, security, and internet protocols such as EIGRP, IPSEC, IP routing, VPN, and IPSEC Tunneling.
- Utilize software and hardware tools to monitor and control network resource performance, diagnosing complex issues that affect network efficiency.
- Engage proactively in Incident Management processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to minimize network service outages.
- Assess network standards and trends to recommend and implement operational improvements.
- Engineer enterprise data, voice, and video networks while managing network test facilities.
- Monitor Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)/certificate authority and provide Customer Relationship Management (CRM) support.
Qualifications:
Security Requirements:
- Active Clearance: Must possess an Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with the capability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance upon hiring.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Network Configuration: Proficiency in configuring, updating, monitoring, managing, troubleshooting, and documenting routers and switches in the USSOCOM LAN/WAN networks.
- Troubleshooting: Skilled in troubleshooting LAN/WAN voice, data, and various transmission networks, including assessing the impact of architectural changes.
- Administration Experience: Hands-on experience with network administration is essential.
- Security Implementation: Capability to implement network and security access controls.
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies, data backup technologies, and COMSEC integration is mandatory.
Certifications:
- DoD IAT 8570 is Required. Must have Level II certification as per DoD IAT 8570 requirements.
- Desired: Preference for candidates with Cisco Certified Associate Level (e.g., CCNA) or Cisco Certified Professional Level (e.g., CCNP) certification OR Juniper Networks Certification (JNCIA-Junos certification).
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree: A degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, a Mathematics-intensive discipline, or a similar field from an accredited college or university is required, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience: In lieu of a formal degree, 9+ years of relevant experience will be considered.
