About the Company
Julius Silvert Inc., a leader in the food distribution industry, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining, optimizing, and expanding our network infrastructure to support seamless business operations across two primary locations and beyond.
This is a full-time on-site position located at our Philadelphia, PA corporate office.
The hours are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM (flexible)
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including HP and Aruba switches, FortiGate firewalls, UniFi access points, Cisco devices, and other standard networking components.
- Monitor and manage SD-WAN products and solutions, ensuring network performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patches to ensure the security and performance of network systems.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to support and integrate infrastructure with ERP (VAI S2k), WMS (BFC Dakota), and e-commerce platforms.
- Assist in helpdesk and technical support tasks, including end-user support and issue resolution.
- Conduct periodic audits of network infrastructure and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and security.
- Maintain documentation of network configurations, processes, and policies.
Required Skills and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration or a related IT role.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing HP and Aruba switches, FortiGate firewalls, and UniFi access points.
- Familiarity with Cisco devices and other standard networking hardware.
- Experience with SD-WAN products is a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including routing, switching, VPNs, and VLANs.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to assist with basic IT helpdesk tasks as needed.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in food distribution or logistics industries is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP and WMS systems like VAI S2k and BFC Dakota.
- Network certifications (e.g., CCNA, Fortinet NSE, Aruba ACSP) are highly desirable.
