Summary/Objective

The Network and Infrastructure Technician is responsible for ensuring coordination of services between IT support vendors and internal customers. Implementation of business applications and operating systems applicable to CR's lines of business and industry is paramount to the success of this role.

Essential Functions

The Network and Infrastructure Technician will be required to:

* Assist in the creation and monitoring of events for the IT infrastructure, and perform associated analysis, escalation, remediation, and incident response.

* Work with Systems Administrators, engineers, and developers to ensure vulnerabilities are mitigated.

* Conduct daily research of tickets affecting company assets, appropriate countermeasures, and industry standards/best practices.

* Perform and complete Annual and monthly compliance reports and assessments

* Gather feedback from end-users to continue to improve systems

* Collaborate with systems administrators, technical development staff, and system operations on system and network infrastructure projects

* Monitor, implement, and verify all Data Protection requirements are met and Data retention policies are being performed

* Participate in cross-functional IT projects

* Responsible for tracking all IT issues and managing remediation efforts working closely with IT, internal and external staff, and consultants

* Provides metrics and indicators for information and assurance

* Design of IT policy education, conducting training and awareness activities

* Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing systems, and network systems

* Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-care

* Diagnosis skills of technical issues

* Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly

* Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately

* Service awareness of all of the organization's key IT services for which support is being provided

* Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services

* Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate entry of service request details

* Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment

* Ability to troubleshoot peripheral device installation and configuration issues and applying solution

* Good understanding in Windows Active Directory and Networking technologies

* On site experience in hardware troubleshooting/replacement and network devices deployment

Competencies/Skills/Abilities

* A minimum of 4+ years in IT with additional prior experience in IT related roles (strongly preferred)

* Strong skills in developing IT processes and procedure documentation.

* Ability to build strong relationships with all levels of management

* Database security controls (Microsoft SQL, Postgres)

* Operating System security controls (Windows and Linux servers)

* Experience with third-party monitoring solutions, End-point protection software

* Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing, to use sound judgment, and to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing and prioritizing

* Demonstrated success in leading/working with a geographically diverse team

* Understand patch management

* MCP / MCITP certifications a huge plus

* Knowledge of firewalls, antivirus and IDPS concepts

* Experienced in installing software and documenting security issues

Supervisory Responsibility

This role does not supervise direct staff, however, will coordinate services and processes with vendors and their staff, as well as internal CR staff (internal customers).

Work Environment

This job operates in a corporate environment. Some off-site travel may be required.

The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35-40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
