- Hours: Work will be split shift (Half Day/Half Maintenance window) or all night shift/maintenance window.
- Hours are somewhat flexible for the Half Day portion.
- There are no set hours. We work across 7 different time zones.
- There is day work in each time zone and maintenance window work in each time zone when work must be completed.
- Work orders are assigned, and the engineer must work based on the requirement of the time associated with the location of the device.
- Most engineers do their planning and writing of configurations for four hours during the day and spend 4 hours in the night executing the configuration changes.

- Cisco CCNA and/or Juniper JNCIA certification
- Experience in new build configuration on Cisco IOS or Junos OS
- Routing/L3: Provisioning/Life Cycle/Troubleshooting experience

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Layer 3 IP Engineer Role handles lifecycle provisioning of Provider Edge (PE), Customer Edge (CE) & P Routers as well as Switches and Terminal Servers that support Voice, Video, and Data in the AT&T Mobility Network . This role focuses on Hardware along with Operating Software. The initial implementation is included along with the lifecycle management (ie. Move, Add, Change, and Decommissioning). The hardware is configured via command line interface and automation. Key Activities include Change Management Preparation & Planning, Maintenance Window Implementation, as well as Collaboration with Project Teams. Description: Responsible for providing custom data network operational support, design, engineering, and planning for complex global data network and communications projects involving TCP/IP and related protocol connectivity for networks supporting AT&T customers in a 7x24 environment.
- Responsible for the management of the interoperability between Cisco and Juniper Layer 3 Platform, through the use of alarm and ticket systems, individual designed customized scripts, customer notification, and Business Partner escalations.
- Responsible for deploying new routers, switches, and trunk capacity as well as configuring them.
- Responsibilities include providing real time in-depth analysis and real time trouble resolution of incidents associated with the CISCO, Juniper, and associated Operations Support Systems, and Data Communications Network Technology platforms.
