Overview:
The Director of Curriculum Implementation and Leadership Development will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless alignment and execution of our curriculum, educational materials, and resources, at the campuses they provide support to. The ideal candidates are passionate about education, have a strong background in school leadership and curriculum implementation, possess exceptional organizational skills, and are adept at fostering collaboration among educators.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with all members of the Schools Team to develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that align with the school's educational objectives and standards
- Oversee the distribution and management of educational materials and resources, ensuring they are in alignment with the established scope and sequence for the respective subject area
- Work closely with teachers and school leaders to provide support in effectively implementing the curriculum and instructional materials, addressing any questions or concerns that may arise
- Create, review, and enhance lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that promote engaging and effective learning experiences for students
- Collaborate with all members of the Schools Team to assist in the collection and analysis of student performance data, utilizing insights to inform ongoing curriculum improvements
- Lead and contribute to curriculum-related meetings, discussions, and workshops, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement
- Stay current with educational trends, research, and best practices within the subject area, integrating relevant insights into curriculum development
- Provide guidance and mentorship to teachers in implementing differentiated instruction and supporting diverse learning needs
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that curriculum and instruction are cohesive across subjects and grade levels
- Support leader development, instructional management and the achievement of improved student outcomes, collaborating closely with principals and Managing Directors to provide strategic support to select campuses, aligned to school development plans
- Execute individual projects for AOT/curriculum as needed (for example, auditing assessments, leading scoring calls, writing materials, etc)
Staff and reporting relationships The Director of Curriculum Implementation and Leadership Development shall report directly to the Managing Director of Schools.
Qualifications:
- Current principal, with minimum of 4 years of teaching experience in the subject area (math for mathematics position, ELA Manager for English language arts position)
- Previous experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or educational leadership
- Strong understanding of curriculum standards and educational best practices within the respective subject area
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively
- Proficiency in data analysis and utilization of data to drive curriculum improvements.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
- Experience in facilitating professional development sessions or workshops is a plus
- Familiarity with educational technology tools and their integration into instruction
- Passion for education and a commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for students
Compensation The starting salary range for this position is $115,000-$140,000. Several factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York City.
