Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY Network Engineer IIs work with customers on implementing and upgrading their network infrastructure. This will include working alongside the customer on network-related issues. Engineer IIs plan for, design, and evaluate new and existing network systems and the services between multiple platforms handled by the Network Operations team. This includes but is not limited to routers, switches, firewalls, VoIP platforms, VPN connections, internal and external circuits, cabling, , and, etc. Network Engineer IIs are primarily customer facing. Their work includes device migrations, network infrastructure, installations, and coordinating with QA and/or Risk Management to ensure configuration integrity and compliance. Network Engineer IIs train and support Network Engineers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates an in-depth to advanced knowledge in variety of technologies; serves as a point of escalation for complex issues.
  • May provide oversight for and ensures the proper engineering and installation of both customer and internal structure changes, as well as new implementations.
  • Ensures projects and tasks are completed in a timely manner
  • Participate in network design, planning, and site/data center surveys
  • Make customer network infrastructure recommendations to meet future business needs
  • Monitor internal/external network infrastructure
  • Incident response
  • Works to maintain CSI's network security policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
PRIMARY RESULTS ACCOUNTABLE FOR ACHIEVING
  • Successful implementation of network design/objectives.
  • Incident tickets/tasks are completed in a timely and responsive manner.
  • Protect integrity of customer data.
  • Adhere to CSI's policies and procedures
  • Maintenance and security of infrastructure devices.
JOB REQUIREMENTSEducation & Certifications: Associate's degree from an accredited university, college or trade school education in relevant field or equivalent training in relevant technology required. CCNA certification at a minimum required, CCNP preferred. (Certifications dependent on role but could include but not be limited to Cisco, Palo Alto, Ciena, Juniper, Microsoft) Experience: Advanced level position in described technology. A minimum of three (3) years of successful, in-depth work experience in relevant technical fields. Required Skills:
  • Advanced IT knowledge including, but not limited to, security clearance, firewalls, routers, switches, network security
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong logic, reasoning, and analytical skills with ability to troubleshoot/problem solve
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team
  • Project management
  • Leadership skills
RELATIONSHIP BUILDING This position requires regular contact both inside and/or outside the company. DECISION MAKING This position requires the use of judgment; general decisions are made to solve a problem or select a course of action for a standard or recognized method of operation. SUPERVISION RECEIVED General Supervision. Assignments are both task-oriented and objective-oriented. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgement and overall adequacy and accuracy.
